Buyers & Sellers: Bryce Harper Gets $2.7M Las Vegas Home; D-Wade Renting In Chicago

Nationals RF BRYCE HARPER purchased a home in a gated Las Vegas community for $2.7M. The house opens to a "vaulted foyer with a floating wood-and-steel staircase and an ornamental garden." Other features include a "glass-enclosed wine wall with storage for 360 bottles and a chef's kitchen complete with quartzite countertops, modern fixtures and an island/bar." There is also a "game room with an additional kitchenette" (LATIMES.com, 8/4).

TOUCH PAD: A 5,600-square-foot house in Baltimore linked to MICHAEL PHELPS sold last month for $960,000, about $70,000 "less than a trust paid for it four years ago." The "loft-style rowhouse" has three bedrooms, and 2 1/2-baths, as well as a "sprawling rooftop patio with a bar and hot tub." It also includes a "garage that takes up most of the first floor" and has room for eight cars (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/10).

YES! Broadcaster MARV ALBERT just purchased a 4,410-square-foot "penthouse condo" in Manhattan for north of $10M (THEREALDEAL.com, 8/2).

WINDY IN HERE: Bulls G DWYANE WADE is "renting a Gold Coast mansion" in Chicago. The 11,000-square-foot house "had been on the market at just below" $9.5M since April but was taken off on Wednesday. The mansion has seven bedrooms and an eighth "in an attached guest apartment above the garage." The rent and "other terms of the lease could not be determined" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 8/9)....Dolphins OT JERMON BUSHROD sold his "four-bedroom, 3,525-square-foot house" in Chicago for $820,000. In '13, Bushrod paid $790,000 for the "Georgian-style" house. The home has "four baths, one fireplace, Brazilian cherry hardwood floors on the first floor, a recently refinished basement with engineered hardwood floors, a custom wet bar and a built-in entertainment center" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 8/5).

UNLOADING REAL ESTATE: Warriors F KEVIN DURANT is selling his Oklahoma City home for $1.5M. That is less than the $1.769M he "paid for the side-by-side three-story properties brand new" in '13 before "remodeling them into a single residence." The for-sale price is far less than the $3M or so Durant "poured into the place in all" (OKLAHOMAN, 8/10)....Tennis player ANDY RODDICK and his wife BROOKLYN DECKER, have put their "North Carolina home on the market" for $2.99M (MANSIONGLOBAL.com, 8/4)....NFL free agent S TAYLOR MAYS put his L.A. home on the market for about $2M. The property has a "two-story entry, wood and ceramic tile floors and nearly 2,700 square feet of open-plan space." Other features include a "hot tub and rooftop patio" that take in city and canyon views (LATIMES.com, 8/9).

COWBOY RANCHES: Cowboys QB TONY ROMO bought a new house in Dallas and has "placed his home in Irving on the market." The "5,551-square foot, Mediterranean-style house," located in the gated Cottonwood Valley community, is being listed at $1.05M (STAR-TELEGRAM.com, 8/8)....Cowboys CB ORLANDO SCANDRICK is "fielding offers" on his home in L.A. The house is listed for sale at $1.795M, "down from as much as" $2.149M a year ago. The "5,100-square-foot  split-level has a clean look with glass accent panels, vaulted ceilings and dark wood floors" (LATIMES.com, 8/10).
