Mio Global And FieldWiz Partner To Combine Their Technologies For Smarter Athlete Tracking

Mio Global, a producer of wearable heart-rate monitor technology, has partnered with FieldWiz, a strategy and physical performance measuring tool for outdoor team sports players. Together the two will introduce a team sports solution that provides coaches and athletes with the tools they need to get meaningful insights about their team. Moving more towards smaller and efficient wearables, the two companies have combined their technologies and software to create a wrist-based wearable that empowers consumers with data and insights to improve their training and health.

Before their partnership, Mio Global went through a rebranding phase, making sure to highlight to their consumers the key benefits of measuring heart rate. FieldWiz primarily used a device worn on a player’s back that collected statistics, which were synchronized at the end of a game or practice with any mobile device via Bluetooth. With their collaboration, they have recognized the need for a new approach to accurate heart rate monitoring for a future without bulky and uncomfortable chest straps.

“We are excited to partner with FieldWiz to provide an accurate wrist-based wearable as an alternative hardware solution to heart rate monitor chest straps,” commented Liz Dickinson, Founder and CEO of Mio Global. “By combining Mio Heart Rate Technology with this innovative strategy analysis and physical performance measuring tool, athletes will now be able to train comfortably, while still acquiring the data needed to analyze sessions and improve performance.”

With the emergence of this also waterproof and sport resistant wearable technology, players across a multitude of sports can track their heart rate through a comfortable wristband, while also monitoring distance, speed, and acceleration on the field through FieldWiz’s unique GPS tracking technology. In order to help athletic improvement, the wearable will seamlessly collect athlete data and streamline it in a way that allows teammates to easily analyze and compare metrics such as maximum velocity, heart rate, and areas covered on the field (heat-mapping) to optimize training.

In sports such as lacrosse, soccer, and even track, comparing player heart rates can be vital in assessing the cohesiveness of the group. The physical performance and strategy analysis involved in Mio Global and FieldWiz’s design allow teams to experience a more connected way to improve as a whole.
