Handle With Care: Axe Bat Signs Red Sox RF Mookie Betts To Multiyear Partnership

Axe Bat, a Baden Sports-owned producer of axe-handled bats, has signed Red Sox RF Mookie Betts to a multiyear promotional partnership. Betts, who earlier this week was voted a starter for the AL in next week's All-Star Game in San Diego, will appear in Axe Bat advertising and provide input in product design and development. Betts is the first pro player signed by Axe Bat, and will also be the first player to use the product in the All-Star Game. A redesigned Axe Bat website featuring Betts debuted today. The Axe Bat, used by more than a dozen MLB players, is designed to provide a more natural grip and reduce the risk of hand injuries compared to conventional round knob bats.
