MOTORSPORT.com's Jim Utter noted NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. is "scheduled to join the TV booth as a guest driver analyst" for FS1's live coverage of Saturday's Sprint Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan Int'l Speedway. Earnhardt will "team with play-by-play announcer Adam Alexander and analyst Michael Waltrip to offer analysis for the entire race." Earnhardt will "be the eighth Sprint Cup Series driver [to] serve as a guest analyst in the Fox NASCAR booth this season" (MOTORSPORT.com, 6/5).

STATUS UNCLEAR: In N.Y., Phil Mushnick wrote he does not "know what Chris Berman's ESPN status is, but it's not strong." Berman reportedly will not return to the net's NFL shows after his current contract is up, and Mushnick wrote, "It's a pity he seemed the last to know that his once-novel novelty act would eventually, like Dr. Frankenstein's monster, turn on him, that his act would become tired, stale, self-destructive" (N.Y. POST, 6/5).
