Twitter Head Of Media Nathan Hubbard Leaving Amid Company Reorganization

Twitter Head of Global Media & Commerce NATHAN HUBBARD is leaving the company following a corporate reorganization in which the social media company is disbanding its commerce team and halting work on its “Buy” button functionality. The move continues a period of marked turmoil for S.F.-based Twitter, which has seen stalled user growth, a flagging stock, and several other senior exec departures this year. Hubbard, the former Ticketmaster CEO who joined Twitter in ’13, posted a 21-part “tweetstorm” late Thursday on his personal feed detailing his move. “Twitter has taught me so much. ... But after ~3 years of commuting to SF from LA, I need to be based at home with my children. Honestly, it’s been rough on my family,” Hubbard wrote. Twitter Head of Business Development JANA MESSERSCHMIDT also is leaving. VP/Revenue Partnerships ALI JAFARI, who had been running Twitter’s Amplify video-based advertising, will now oversee all of Twitter’s partnership functions, including media, business development and Amplify, in a newly unified role.
