DONALD TRUMP's 16 golf courses were the source of about $200M of the revenue he "reported on last summer's disclosure." Three of the courses "must make public disclosures," and they "haven't been doing especially well." Trump Turnberry in Scotland, purchased in '14, lost $5.2M that year, "according to a filing with the Scottish government." Most of it is "closed for an upgrade and due to reopen in June." Another Trump golf course in Scotland and one in Ireland also lost money in '14. Trump's other 13 golf courses "don't report publicly." Golf business specialists said that the best courses in the world "operate with 20% to 35% profit margins." A 27.5% margin was used to estimate Trump's pretax income from these 13 courses (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 5/16).

TED TALK: Packers Exec VP, GM & Dir of Football Operations TED THOMPSON at 63 years old "recently completed his 12th draft in charge of the Packers," but despite his "high-profile position in the nation's most popular sport, his fleeting public appearances and a well-known reticence with the media shroud him in mystery." But those who knew Thompson growing up in Atlanta, Texas, his hometown, "remember a five-sport star, a student council president and class officer, an usher for senior activities and actor in a school play" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 5/13).

AROUND WE GO: Current and former Team Penske IndyCar drivers, including HELIO CASTRONEVES, SIMON PAGENAUD, JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, WILL POWER and RICK MEARS, on Friday took turns asking questions of team Owner ROGER PENSKE at a media gathering. Pagenaud "asked Penske about the business of racing." Montoya "asked about raising children in the sport." Power "asked Penske about regrets" for ending his driving career in '65. Mears "asked if Penske could have envisioned building such a racing dynasty" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 5/14).

ART CLASS: Giants Chair & Exec VP STEVE TISCH's hillside estate in Beverly Hills includes a "two-story, 4,500-square-foot mini-museum." Known as the "shed," the building "rose over the last 18 months" on what was previously Tisch's tennis complex. Tisch: "It has just been finished; the paint is literally just dry." Tisch is "the only person in history with both a Super Bowl ring and an Academy Award." Tisch held an inaugural dinner at the shed as "part of an elaborate fund-raiser" for the L.A. County Museum of Art, where Tisch "sits on the board." He has become "one of the most important patrons, giving millions in recent years" (N.Y. TIMES, 5/15).

AWARDS & HONORS: MLB Giants stakeholder PETER MAGOWAN has been elected to the Bay Area Sports HOF. He "cited a laundry list of people he credited with keeping" the Giants in S.F. and building AT&T Park. Magowan said that it "was far from a one-man brigade." Also in this year's HOF class are former MLBer JEFF KENT, Basketball HOFer MITCH RICHMOND, former NFLer RASYMOND CHESTER and former U.S. swimmer ANNE WARNER CRIBBS. The enshrinement banquet is today at the Westin St. Francis Hotel (S.F. CHRONICLE, 5/15)....Former NBAer STEVE NASH "has been awarded the Order of Canada in Ottawa." He was "one of 48 honoured by Gov. Gen. DAVID JOHNSTON" Friday at a ceremony at Rideau Hall (TORONTO STAR, 5/14)....Former UFC fighter ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA has been named as the first inductee of the outfit's '16 HOF class. The event will take place July 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (UFC).

NAMES: Basketball HOFer MAGIC JOHNSON "stepped down from the board of mobile-payments company Square Inc., turning his attention to a billion-dollar infrastructure fund he launched." He  "joined the board of the payments company last year" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 5/14)....An episode of TBS' "THE DETOUR" "scheduled later this season has a NASCAR theme." Actor/writer JASON JONES said that NASCAR "pitched the idea to the show, and parts of the episode were shot at Atlanta Motor Speedway" (USATODAY.com, 5/15)....The Univ. of Oregon this week "got the final go-ahead" to "start what it says will be the only design master's degree program in the world focused on athletic design" (Portland OREGONIAN, 5/15)....THE MMQB's PETER KING on Saturday gave the commencement address at Penn State (MMQB.SI.com, 5/16)....Nike co-Founder & Chair PHIL KNIGHT's memoir, "SHOE DOG," came in at No. 4 on the N.Y.
