Liverpool FC Partners With Vixlet To Create First-Of-Its-Kind Social Portal For Fans

Liverpool FC is expanding its effort to connect with their fan base. After partnering with Skype to provide Reds fans with a new way to engage with their club, Liverpool FC unveiled its partnership with Vixlet, a social media network platform based in Los Angeles, to revamp the club’s magazine website into a “next generation social network” app called LFC Xtra.

The new LFC Xtra platform enables fans to convey their passion for the club and connect with each other all over the world. The site allows the fans to post their own stories, follow news regarding players and access exclusive club content. Fans will be able to post images and share their moments through Vixlet Capsules.

The move by Liverpool FC to partner with Vixlet is unprecedented. They are the first football club in the world on the social media platform, and this might not be the last partnership they unveil, as they seek to enhance the club experience for their supporters.

“Vixlet is a social network like no other and we’re delighted they have become a partner enabling us to bring a brand new social portal to our fans”, explain Billy Hogan, Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool FC. “LFC Xtra will be the place for our fans around the world to interact with the club and each other like never before.”

The founders of Vixlet were also excited about the news: “Liverpool FC marks the first ever football club on Vixlet, and we are thrilled to welcome its incredibly rich history of achievements and very passionate fan-base.” said Krishna Gopala and Lisa Gopala. “The entire LFC team demonstrates every single its place as a market leader in technology and sports entertainment and we look forward to transforming the fan experience for the team.”

The club should be commended for staying ahead of the curve when it comes to their latest partnerships with technology companies such as Skype and Vixlet, but there is only one sure way to transform the fan experience for the team, and that’s to return the club to their glory days.
