The Redskins have "filed suit against one of their former players," H.B. BLADES, to "recoup $40,000 the team mistakenly paid him three years ago as the result of a clerical error." The lawsuit, filed in federal court in N.Y. on Thursday, states that the Redskins "paid Blades a $40,000 severance on Sept. 28, 2012." The lawsuit continues, "The Redskins mistakenly paid an additional $40,000 to Blades on December 27, 2013 as a result of a clerical error." The following month, the Redskins "sent him a letter demanding repayment." After Blades "didn’t repay the money, the NFL Management Council filed a grievance on behalf of the Redskins on Feb. 6, 2014, seeking reimbursement of erroneous payment" (WASHINGTON POST, 2/27).

DONALD DUCKS: In N.Y., Joe Nocera noted Members of Trump National Jupiter from Marriott Vacations Worldwide allege that DONALD TRUMP, who bought the resort in '12, "basically stiffed them out of their refundable deposits, many of which were in the range of $200,000." Some of the members "had to swallow the loss," while others "negotiated settlements." Others have sued, and one suit has "gained class-action status, and if a federal judge doesn’t dismiss the case between now and June (unlikely), it will go to trial" (N.Y. TIMES, 2/27).

AWARDS & HONORS: NFL Senior Adviser to the Commissioner JOE BROWNE "was the Pete Rozelle Award recipient for his contributions" to the league at the Touchdown Club of New Orleans' banquet Saturday night. He has worked for the NFL since '65 and is the "longest-serving employee in the league's front office" (Baton Rouge ADVOCATE, 2/28)....The Atlanta Tipoff Club named Basketball HOF coach DENNY CRUM and Women's Basketball HOF coach ANDY LANDERS its '16 Naismith Outstanding Contributors to men's and women's basketball, respectively (ATC)....The city of Toronto inducted Hockey HOFer JOHNNY BOWER and tennis player MILOS RAONIC into its Toronto Sport Hall of Honour (Toronto).

GIVING BACK: Six Flags CEO JOHN DUFFEY and his wife BECKY, both Michigan State alumni, pledged a $1M gift to the school's Eli Broad College of Business and a $1.5M gift to the athletics department (MSU)....Blackhawks D DUNCAN KEITH's charity "raised $100,000 Monday night to support medical patients' families." He was joined by G COREY CRAWFORD, C ANDREW SHAW and "several other teammates, who sang for a sold-out crowd and took turns tending bar at the 'Keith Relief' benefit concert'" at Joe's Bar in Chicago. NAMES: U.S. District Judge LYNN HUGHES has moved the sentencing of former MLB Cardinals Scouting Dir CHRIS CORREA for his role in a hacking scandal to 1:30pm CT on April 18. The proceeding was initially scheduled for April 11, the day the Astros and Cardinals "both are to begin" their '16 home schedules (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/29)....The life of former Vanderbilt basketball player PERRY WALLACE, who became the "first African American to play in the SEC, will be portrayed in a play this fall" on the school's campus (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 2/28)....More than 300 people “gathered Friday night to celebrate” the Univ. of Colorado’s new athletic facilities at the Sustainable Excellence Dedication Gala.
