Overnight Ratings: U.S. Figure Skating Sees Primetime Jump; "SNL" Strong For Rousey

NBC drew a 2.6 overnight rating on Saturday in primetime for coverage of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, up from a 2.3 last year, but down from a 3.0 in '14, when it aired earlier in the month in the lead-up to the Sochi Olympics. The 2.6 rating also is up from a 2.5 in '13. While some NBC markets earlier in the day were preempted for coverage of Winter Storm Jonas, all affiliates were back for figure skating in primetime. Meanwhile, NBC later that night drew a 5.0 overnight for "SNL," which featured UFC fighter Ronda Rousey as host. That is the third-best figure this season to date, behind only a holiday special hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and an episode hosted by Donald Trump.

Listed below are overnight ratings for weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV. Coverage of the snow storm preempted several telecasts in select markets on Saturday afternoon. NBC's Penguins-Capitals on Sunday afternoon was canceled and the net showed coverage from the previous night's figure skating action. Fox' Providence-Villanova game also was moved to Sunday from its original Saturday slot.
