Saturday's PBC Card On Fox Will Be First Boxing Matches Shown In Virtual Reality

Virtual reality outfit NextVR has partnered with Fox Sports to bring live coverage of Premier Boxing Champions matches live in the enhanced format on Saturday, marking the first ever boxing matches shown in VR. The deal, expanding on prior virtual reality collaborations between Fox Sports and NextVR in several other sports, calls for a multiple-camera setup around the ring at Staples Center that will be buttressed by live commentary and graphics. Accessing the free feed will require a Samsung Gear VR headset and the NextVR application. “This is another big step forward for us,” said NextVR Senior VP/Corporate Strategy Dave Cramer. “This is going to show boxing in a way that people have never seen before.” The PBC card Saturday is highlighted by a welterweight bout between Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero.
