NFL Panthers Boast Busiest Month In Team Store History; Cardinals Jersey Sales Up

NFL Panthers Dir of Communications Steve Drummond said that December "was the busiest month" in team store history, according to Sarah Chaney of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. The store "had 10,129 orders for the month, for an average of 289 orders per day," and it "processed over 15,500 transactions for December, at an average of $80 per transaction." Drummond said, "We will ship almost as many orders in December as we have done from January 1 to November 30" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 1/2). Meanwhile, in Arizona, Sonja Haller noted retailers are seeing the Cardinals' signature red gear "fly off the shelves." National jersey sales for Cardinals players have "spiked in the last week," moving up the team in sales rankings. WR Larry Fitzgerald last week "cracked the top 20 in jersey sales," as his No. 11 jersey "ranked No. 12 in sales." Fitzgerald "was the only Cardinals player on the top 20 list." Overall, Cardinals' jersey sales "rank No. 18 in the NFL, a five-spot leap over last year's No. 23 ranking" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 1/1).
