Year In Review: Mayweather, Pacquiao Are Most-Mentioned Athletes On Facebook

The May 2 “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao aided the two fighters in becoming the most-mentioned athletes on Facebook in ’15, according to rankings from the social media platform. Videos posted to Mayweather’s official page in the month leading up to the fight garnered 60 million views, while the bout itself generated 115 million related posts, comments or “Likes.” UFC fighter Ronda Rousey comes in as the third-most-mentioned athlete in ’15, followed by La Liga club FC Barcelona F Lionel Messi and Real Madrid MF Cristiano Ronaldo (Facebook).
