SportTechie Startup Profile Series: Massage Tech Gives Athletes Portable Physical Therapy

New technology from startup ventures is transforming the sports industry. The mission of this series will be to introduce startup companies in the sports technology space to a broader audience and allow Founders of promising new ventures to tell their story.

Company: MassageTech

CEO: Chris Alderson

Headquarters: Bognor Regis, UK

1. What is your elevator pitch?

Based on Clinical Research, the MT Sport by Massage Tech is a brand new, innovative product that improves performance, reduces muscle soreness (DOMS) and time spent recovering.

2. Problem & Solution

Both Athletes and Sports people alike know only too well the importance of pushing past self-limitations to reach the goals they have set for themselves. Preparation is key to their performance and is an essential part of their routine to help prevent injury to muscles as well as priming them to work at optimum efficiency,  increasing their overall endurance.

The benefits of pre and post-workout, sport therapy treatments are widely recognised but are usually expensive and it’s rarely convenient.

The MT sport (Sport Therapy System) offers the same benefits as the larger more expensive power plates but with it being portable can be used in the comfort of their own home.

The exact 50Hz vibration that the oscillating pad creates is backed up by clinical studies and is the perfect way to stimulate, prime and optimize your body’s performance and stamina. It is an affordable solution that meets the needs of busy professional or amateur athletes.

3. Market – your target market and the overall market

Elite and dedicated athletes with a strong interest in their chosen sport: runners, cyclists, and triathletes are our typical market but the product can be used by any sports person or anyone that takes fitness seriously. When you add up the price of sports therapy or rehabilitation treatments this is by far the most cost efficient solution that achieves the same desired results and is ready to be used whenever you are ready to train.12045778_491719041005800_2588308005075863895_o

4. Business Model

We generate Sales through our website and partner with influential distributors, preferably with a sports or fitness background. This helps to educate our customers and increases Sales. We hope in the near future to be stocking this in sports shops around England.

5. Management Team

Mr Chris Alderson – Director; Mr Dan Auguste – Business Development Manager; Miss Hayley Byles – Sales & Marketing coordinator; Mr Ashley Beaumont – Online Marketing

6. What else do you want the audience to know about your venture?

That there is nothing like this currently on the market. No Gimmicks, No False promises, it does exactly what we claim that it does! The MT Sport is simple to use and would be a great addition to any sports or fitness focused household.
