Weekend Plans With Dolphins VP Nick Forro: Birthday Party, Beach Time

For Dolphins VP/Ticket Sales & Service NICK FORRO, the next few weeks will be spent preparing for the upcoming home game at Sun Life Stadium on Nov. 22 against the Cowboys and enhancing the fan experience for ticket holders. But business planning also has begun for next season. He said, “We are finishing up sales for the ’15 season for suites and group sales and are really focused on how to move the needle in ’16 and beyond.”

PARTY PEOPLE: I have been married for about 10 years and I have twin 5-year-old boys, NICHOLAS and CARTER, and a 3-year-old daughter, PAIGE. Friday nights are pretty low key. It is typically family movie night. I will be at home this Friday spending a couple hours with the kids. They usually win the movie battle with us -- a lot of Disney movies. With a young family, it is important to unplug and put my phone away on weekends since you are so focused during the week. I make breakfast for us every morning. This particular Saturday is my daughter’s birthday. We have some family in town and are throwing a party Saturday night at her gymnastics center. She is having a bunch of her friends over. Nothing too crazy, but it should be a good time.

EASY LIKE A SUNDAY MORNING: I wake up first on Sundays and get the kids up by 7:30am ET. We usually head to church service at 10:00am. After that we go out for lunch. But Sunday afternoons vary. Sometimes we will lay low as a family and play some board games or some Legos. It just depends on what kind of weekend it is. Other times, I try to use it to get ready for Monday because I know the work week is extremely busy. I am definitely a big believer in trying to stay as healthy as I can. I have picked up CrossFit during the week from 5:30-6:30am. It is the only time I can work out and not take away from family time. But I would say that my guilty weekend pleasure is definitely pizza.

CULTURE CLUB: We like to go to the beach a lot because South Florida is such a beautiful place to live. We try to find some sort of water and get out there with the kids and make sure we are creating memories as a family. We have a lot of friends with younger kids and we spend time at their houses or go out to dinner to continue our relationships with them. One thing I have noticed since having kids is that personal time is at a premium. My wife and I do have a few favorite places to go on date nights when we get a babysitter from time to time. We love Ft. Lauderdale and its beautiful view of the ocean. They have some great restaurants and it is not too far of a drive. On some weekends, we will head down to Miami and the South Beach area for a bigger outing. There is just so much culture and the food is great. That is the neat part of South Florida. We live in the suburbs, but a 40-minute drive and we can be in one of the most beautiful places in the world. There is really great diversity down here as far as things to do.
