Sports Business Execs Well Represented Among Finishers Of TCS N.Y. Marathon

More than 50,000 runners competed in the 45th TCS N.Y. Marathon on Sunday, including many readers of THE DAILY. We would like to congratulate all those who accomplished the 26.2-mile feat through N.Y.'s five boroughs, and thank those who shared their experiences with us. Below are finish times, along with some personal anecdotes, from many of the sports business execs who participated:

MLB Dir of Market Research Marc Beck (4:18:45) -- "This race was circled on my calendar 2.5 years earlier after I finished my first half marathon in May 2013, and it lived up to its billing and then some. I met so many great people just through training, and it was such a thrill to be running down the streets with terrific crowds watching along the route. My final and best memory was reaching a pub where my family was. I received a loud ovation from the many strangers in the place as I cried on my wife’s shoulder knowing I achieved something I worked so hard for."

U.S. Open Ticket Office Senior Manager of Client Services Michael Bozzo (4:12:29) -- "I completed my second consecutive NYC Marathon on Sunday, six minutes faster than my finish in 2014. The weather was perfect and the crowds were inspiring (and loud) in every borough. I did my best to stay focused throughout the course and battle through a tough finish -- particularly beyond mile 20. I cannot wait for 2016!"

NHL Account Exec Allyson Carr (5:16:49) -- "Finishing the Marathon was something I never thought I could accomplish. This experience has taught me so much about myself and has shown me what having a great support system can help you achieve. I ran with Team for Kids, an amazing charity and group of runners that made this experience the best possible. I can't wait for my next challenge!"

Intersport Dir of Programming & Development Dave Correa (3:35:39) -- "I ran for Team Boomer (Boomer Esiason Foundation) which helped raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis. What an incredible day. As someone who’s attended a lot of the major sporting events out there, it was one of the coolest sports experiences I’ve witnessed. A truly world-class event."

GMR Marketing Senior VP/Global Sports & Entertainment Matt Hill (3:40:38) -- "It was an amazing experience. So inspiring to be out there on the course with such great fans. And really cool to see the city in a way I'd never seen it before."

USA Today Media Group Dir of Sports Marketing & Partnerships Tyler Kupper (4:49:22) -- "Completing my 9th Marathon was a great accomplishment. The city was electric Sunday, weather was perfect for a nice 26.2 mile stroll through the 5 boroughs!"

MKTG Senior Manager of Field Activation Joanna Solazzo (4:41:00).

The Legacy Agency Principal Russ Spielman (4:08:53) -- "Glad to be done."

Devils and Prudential Center President Hugh Weber (4:03:58) -- "The day was spectacular, the weather was perfect and I felt relaxed. I was wearing all Devils gear, so I think I actually converted what I’ll call a few thousand people in every borough of New York. I really wanted to enjoy the day, so I stopped along the way and took selfies with people. I had a dozen or so people call out my name along the route as well. The crowds and fans were wonderful. It was a great event.”
