A $40M Wayne State Univ. business school named after Red Wings and Tigers Owner MIKE ILITCH "will be built near the new Red Wings arena." The Ilitch family intends to "donate the land" and $35M to build the Mike Ilitch School of Business plus a $5M endowment (DETROIT NEWS, 10/28). It would be the university's "first new construction for its business school outside of the university’s Midtown campus." It was "unclear how quickly construction would begin, but the school is expected to be completed" by '18 (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 10/28).

NAMES: New York Gov. ANDREW CUOMO is "hosting a fundraiser" during World Series Games 3 and 4 at Citi Field this weekend. The price "to rub elbows with the governor at one of the games is $5,500" A source said that the governor's office "bought the tickets directly from the Mets" (Albany TIMES UNION, 10/28)....Heat G DWYANE WADE presented TAYLOR SWIFT with a Heat jersey last night night during her concert at AmericanAirlines Arena (SUN-SENTINEL.com, 10/27)....A spokesperson for BILLY JOEL said that the entertainer "will sing the national anthem before Game 3 of the World Series at Citi Field on Friday" (NEWSDAY, 10/28)....The Rhode Island House Oversight Committee yesterday “reopened its investigation” into the “debacle” surrounding the now-defunct 38 Studios and its founder, ESPN’s CURT SCHILLING (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 10/28)....Former MLBer DEREK JETER and girlfriend HANNAH DAVIS are “finally ready to tie the knot,” though they have not yet “set a date” (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/28)....Members of the NFL Panthers yesterday took part in a live video game competition with members of the military in Charlotte (Panthers).
