An NFLer such as Quin, "investing in an industry that is propped up by his own performances, adds another layer to the complicated relationship between fantasy and professional sports." Quin said that he is "not sure how his investments are faring." He is "on an investment team that handles the particulars of the relationship, which frees him up to focus on football." But his investment "could be viewed by some as creating a perceived conflict of interest, because it's so reliant on what he and his teammates do on the field" (MLIVE.com, 10/21).

STUDY SESSION: First Lady MICHELLE OBAMA and Cavaliers F LEBRON JAMES appeared at the Univ. of Akron yesterday for a campaign to "encourage more young people to seek post-secondary education." More than 2,400 youth and adults "waited more than two hours for James and Obama to appear at the James A. Rhodes Arena." DOING A GOOD DEED: Texans DT VINCE WILFORK on Saturday "will visit" with the family of the late COREY JONES, a housing inspector from Boynton Beach, Fla., who was "killed early Sunday by a plainclothes Palm Beach Gardens police officer after his car broke down on the southbound exit ramp from Interstate 95 at PGA Boulevard." Wilfork "knew Jones and his family well," as they attended Santaluces High School together in Lantana, Fla. (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 10/21).
