ESPN.com's Bob Pockrass reported NASCAR team co-owner and driver Michael Waltrip "still plans to run" the '16 Daytona 500 despite the recent announcement that Michael Waltrip Racing would shut down after this season. Waltrip, who has won the Daytona 500 twice, announced in April that he would "attempt to make his 29th start in the sport's biggest race with sponsorship from Maxwell House." Waltrip yesterday said that the Maxwell House deal "is still on and he plans to put on the helmet to compete next February." Pockrass noted Waltrip "could field the car himself -- the process of shutting down MWR will take until April -- or bring the sponsorship to another team that fields Toyotas" (ESPN.com, 10/7).

PACKER'S PACT: In Green Bay, Richard Ryman reports Wisconsin-based Prevea Health and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers have "renewed their endorsement agreement for an additional four years." Terms of the deal "were not disclosed." Rodgers "first signed with Prevea" in '12, and they "recently launched a campaign that focuses on helping people map out health plans that focus on wellness and prevention" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 10/8).

WHITE LIGHT: Texas-based United American Insurance Co. has signed Pro Football HOFer Randy White to an endorsement deal. White will help promote the company's insurance products and will be featured in ads to aid in United American's independent broker recruiting goals (United American).
