Mike Trout Continues Evolution As New Face Of MLB, Unveils Signature Nike Shoe

Angels CF Mike Trout continues to "become the face" of MLB and on Friday unveiled his new Nike Lunar Trout 2 shoe, according to Marcia Smith of the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER. The shoe will be released Oct. 3 for a $140 cleat and $120 turf models in "assorted colors." Trout "has also become the feet -- and the future -- for Nike as the only player other than Ken Griffey Jr. to inspire his own signature baseball cleat." Trout had a "direct hand in developing the Lunar Trout 2" since a December meeting with Nike Global Product Line Manager Cameron Shick and Nike Global Baseball Design Dir Ken Link. Trout: "They basically throw a shoe at you and see what you’re opinion is, what you like, what you don’t like and go from there." Trout got "exactly what he wanted out of the shoe, especially the 'Blueprint' model he displayed for the unveiling." This Nike.com-exclusive, expected to be "heavily sought by shoe collectors, is Lunar Trout 2’s 'Blueprint' inaugural colorway, representing Trout with his images, biographical data and a few physics lessons to boot" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 9/13).
