Looking, Not Touching: Dombrowski Evaluating Red Sox Before Making Personnel Moves

Red Sox President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski said that after taking over a few weeks back, he "hasn’t dismissed anyone with the Sox," though Director of Pro Scouting Jared Porter "has left the team to join the Cubs," according to a source cited by Nick Cafardo of the BOSTON GLOBE (8/30). The BOSTON GLOBE's Cafardo reported Dombrowski "seems impressed with the Red Sox’ farm system and international operation," but everything else "might be up for review and change" While the Red Sox bypassed MLB minority hiring rules when they interviewed only Dombrowski for the job, they "have been instructed to interview minority candidates" for the GM position that opened up once Ben Cherington decided to step down (BOSTON GLOBE 8/30).
