Buyers & Sellers: LeBron Sells Miami Mansion For $13.4M; Suh Buys In Ft. Lauderdale

Cavaliers F LEBRON JAMES recently sold his 16,678-square-foot Miami-area home for $13.4M, the "highest price for a home sold" in the northern Coconut Grove community. The home was "first listed" last October for $17M and "was lowered" to $15M in March. James in '10 paid $9M for the home, which includes "six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms and docks for two 60-foot yachts" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/26)....Dolphins DT NDAMUKONG SUH recently paid $6.5M cash on a 16,000-square-foot home "in the Coral Ridge area" of Ft. Lauderdale. Suh paid $500,000 less than the asking price for the home, which is "just one bridge away from the ocean" and was rebuilt in '13. The house has "six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a movie theater that comfortably sits 11" and a wine cellar (MIAMIHERALD.com, 8/21). 

EXECUTIVE DECISIONS: FC Dallas President DANIEL HUNT has reportedly bought a Highland Park, Texas, home belonging to golfer JUSTIN LEONARD for $13.8M. Built in '10, the "stone-clad contemporary sits on about an acre" and includes "two floors of living." It features a "wine cellar, a media room and a fitness center." Beamed ceilings, stone and wood floors and wrought-iron chandeliers "lend a rustic note to the 13,930 square feet of living space." Leonard bought the home in '09 and "had asked" as much as $15.995M for it in March (LATIMES.com, 8/22)....Canucks co-Owner & Chair FRANCESCO AQUILINI "recently bought" a Phoenix home for $4.5M while still owning his "mansion on Vancouver's affluent west side." He also "has property in Beverly Hills" for which he paid $7.2M (NATIONAL POST, 8/27).

COACH TALK: USC football coach STEVE SARKISIAN sold his home in the South Bay area of L.A. for $8.55M "after about a year and a half of ownership." He had asked $9.5M for the hilltop property. Set on more than five acres, the "renovated ranch-style home is surrounded by a 500-tree orchard." Outdoor amenities "include a 2,200-gallon koi pond, a putting green, a tennis court and a swimming pool and spa." There are 18 televisions "throughout the 8,250 square feet of living space," and a lower level "holds a wine cellar with a tasting room." Five bedrooms and eight bathrooms "include a master suite complete with an office/exercise room and his-and-hers closets." Sarkisian "bought the house" last year for $8.5M (LATIMES.com, 8/24)....Former DePaul Univ. men's basketball coach OLIVER PURNELL on Tuesday sold his 7,300-square-foot "brick and stone mansion" in the Lincoln Park community of Chicago for $2.58M. Purnell "purchased the mansion" for $3.08M in '10. Built in '08, the "extra-wide, five-bedroom house has five baths, five custom fireplaces, handcrafted woodwork, Marvin windows, coffered and barreled ceilings, a grand staircase, custom doors, radiant heated floors, a wine cellar with a tasting table, an elevator, a library with a wet bar, and a custom kitchen with an AGA stove." Outdoor features "include a rooftop deck and hot tub, plus a breezeway to a three-car garage" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/26).

DIAMOND EXCHANGE: Free agent OF JASON KUBEL has put his Calabasas, Calif., home "on the market" for $3.5M. Set against a "hillside in the Mureau Estates community," the Tuscan-inspired home features a "swimming pool, a putting green and a playground with a sunken trampoline." It also includes a fenced batting cage "complete with a pitching machine." A large motor court and a four-car garage "mark the entrance to the home." Kubel "bought the house" in '10 for $1.95M (LATIMES.com, 8/26)....MLB Rangers LF JOSH HAMILTON has "adjusted the price of his 10,850-square-foot mansion" in Newport Coast, Calif., to $15.89M, a "price cut of $612,000." Hamilton "bought the house" in '13 for $12M after signing a free-agent deal with the Angels (LATIMES.com, 8/25).

THRILL SEEKERS: NASCAR driver KEVIN HARVICK has sold his Oak Ridge, N.C., home for $2.3M. The 12,000-square-foot home includes "soaring ceilings on all levels" on 20 acres. The property also features "gardens and a salt-water pool with cabana" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/27)....Skateboarder/snowboarder SHAUN WHITE has put his house in L.A. "up for rent" at $15,000 per month. Alternatively, the "Midcentury Modern-style home is listed for sale" at $2.2M. The home "has a polished look with dark wood floors and ceilings, elaborate chandeliers and walls of floor-to-ceiling glass" (LATIMES.com, 8/20)....Skateboarder RYAN SHECKLER "recently bought a new house" in San Clemente, Calif., for $2.5M. The "stone-clad Mediterranean, built in 2003, sits raised from the street with a two-car garage." The home has 3,000 square feet of living space and includes "four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 8/24). 

LAKE LIFE: SI CAMPUS RUSH's Thamel & Evans note Lake Oconee, which is just an hour southeast of Atlanta, has become a "vacation destination" for many football coaches. Arizona's RICH RODRIGUEZ jokes that "coaches go to die" at Reynolds Plantation, which is located on the lake. Other coaches "who hit Reynolds Plantation this summer" include the NFL Cardinals' BRUCE ARIANS, Virginia Tech's FRANK BEAMER, Mississippi State's DAN MULLEN and UCF's GEORGE O'LEARY. The spot "also attracted" former Wake Forest coach JIM GROBE and Alabama defensive coordinator KIRBY SMART (CAMPUSRUSH.com, 8/27).
