In Green Bay, Scott Venci reports the Univ. of Wisconsin-Green Bay signed a seven-year deal with adidas "that will make the shoe company the official footwear, apparel and accessory brand of its athletic teams" through the '21-22 season. Although terms of the agreement "weren’t revealed," the deal calls for UWGB to "spend a minimum $100,000 with adidas each year and receive $225,000 of free apparel in return." UWGB is "receiving an extra $50,000 for the transition to adidas" from Nike. The deal "represents the first department-wide deal" for the school (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 8/25).

BANNER DAY: In Charlotte, Erik Spanberg reported the Hornets have signed N.C.-based ImageMark Business Services "as a vendor and sponsor." ImageMark "will make all of the banners and signs used in and around" TWC Arena, including images of players and team logos." A source said that the company "committed to a three-year deal worth an estimated $100,000 to $250,000 annually." Neither the Hornets nor the company "would discuss terms" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/24).

READY TO TANGO: CSN Bay Area's Jim Kozimor said of 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick portraying actor Al Pacino's character from "Scent Of A Woman" in a promo for EA Sports' new "Madden" video game, "He was impressive doing that and he continues to be in the national public eye." SI's Phil Taylor said a commercial like that "shows that he does have personality" and "some charisma" ("Sports Talk Live," CSN bay Area, 8/21).
