StrikeTec’s Wearable Sensors Give MMA Fighters Actionable Data Feedback
There’s a new product in the world of MMA and boxing that will make it easier for fighters to learn how well they pack a punch. EFD Sports has developed a new kind of innovative sensor capable of providing much more than padding.
Wes Elliott, founder and CEO of EFD Sports, originally conceived the idea for wearable sensors that are designed to give fighters essential instant feedback in 2010. Compatible with Android, Apple and PC devices, the StrikeTec sensors provide users with critical information regarding their punches.
Users are able to review the recorded figures after each session such as punch speed, type, and force. They will also see their fatigue and endurance levels, as well as the number of calories burned.
A coach can view this data as it comes in, providing the fighter with real-time updates. StrikeTec sensors communicate performance and intensity while charting it accordingly. All data is synced with a Cloud server for future review and analysis.
Fighters have the ability to share workouts and personal progress on Twitter and Facebook, or send it through email.
StrikeTec also works with its dedicated Arena application which allows fans at home to view real-time stats during each bout where fighters are wearing the sensors. As viewers watch exclusively on DirecTV, live data, such as summaries, stats, and other information, are sent to their connected devices.
Wes Elliot, CEO of EFD StrikeTec, expressed his hopes to expand the publicity of his product and says his team is planning to partner with big names such as Spike TV and Bellator in the future.
