Pistons' Season-Ticket Renewals Nearing 90% As Execs See "Optimism" Around Team

The Pistons have an 87% season-ticket renewal rate "and are hoping to top" 90% by the time the '15-16 season begins, according to Terry Foster of the DETROIT NEWS. Pistons Senior VP/Consumer Sales Brad Lott said, "From my end of it there is a lot of optimism around the team. Even from last year you can see the success that [coach Stan Van Gundy] has had with this team. Fans are pretty optimistic and you can see them starting to come around. People have taken notice and you see an uptick in ticket sales." Foster notes the team "introduced three mini-season ticket plans today to the public." The "most attractive" is The Big Game Plan. Included in that plan are the Lakers -- and "perhaps the final visit of Kobe Bryant on Dec. 6" -- as well as the Warriors, Clippers, Spurs and Thunder. There also is the "weekend plan, a series of 10 games that are played Friday and Saturday" and includes the Bulls and Cavaliers, which is "good for people with busy weeks of work, soccer practice and spending time with family." The weekday plan is "highlighted" by games against the Raptors, Cavaliers, Bulls and Heat and is "better geared for business professionals who want to entertain clients during the week and keep weekends free" (DETROIT NEWS, 8/20).
