Temple Extends Lease Deal With Eagles To Play At Lincoln Financial Through '19

Temple Univ. and the Eagles have "reached an agreement that would allow the Owls to play their home games in Lincoln Financial Field for two more years" after the school's current lease deal expires in '17, according to Snyder & Narducci of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it gives Temple the "'flexibility and time' to explore all options, including the possibility of building a football stadium on campus." School officials said that building a new venue "could take several years." Snyder & Narducci note Temple is "poised to make a decision" this year concerning an on-campus stadium. The school will "have to give the Eagles some notice if it intends to exercise the option of renting the stadium" in '18, though neither side would detail the length of that notice (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 8/19).
