IBM Super Computer Watson Will Help You Dominate in Fantasy Football

IBM’s famed Watson, a computer system of artificial intelligence, has moved on from his Jeopardy winning days. Now, Watson is being put to use to rule the world of fantasy football.

Edge Up Sports, a sports analytics website, is working with IBM to create a Watson-powered fantasy football app.

The app is developed as part of the IBM Watson Ecosystem, which allows businesses to partner with IBM and access Watson’s cognitive resources.

While this new app will help one pick their fantasy football team, it will be most valuable in choosing just the right lineup week to week.

The app will sift through an incredibly dense amount of data, from points like how well a certain team performs on grass versus turf to how positive or negative news media and social media is on a player. It even looks at a player’s injury history to determine how a slight injury may affect a player’s performance.

Watson’s cognitive abilities will aid in bringing even more data points than ever to the world of football and fantasy football.

Watson and the app should take much of the guessing game out of fantasy football for the purpose of dominating your office’s pool.

Edge Up Sports has a Kickstarter campaign taking funds right now. Their goal is $35,000 and they are most of the way there already. Different amounts of contributions to their campaign with give you varied level of access to the app and communications with the Edge Up Sports team.
