Pennsylvania-based LECOM Health has signed a four-year deal with the PGA Tour to become the title sponsor of a new Web.com Tour event at Peek'n Peak Resort in Western New York, beginning next year (PGA Tour). The deal brings pro golf back to the resort "with a much healthier outlook after a six-year run" with the then-Buy.com Tour event that ended in '07. Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation CEO Kevin Sanvidge said that a sponsor forum "will be conducted in Chautauqua and Erie counties to secure smaller sponsors and boost revenues." The previous event "never had a major sponsor" (ERIE TIMES-NEWS, 7/29).
