Overnight Ratings: Day's Canadian Open Win Delivers Eight-Year Event High For CBS

CBS earned a 2.1 overnight rating yesterday for the final round of the RBC Canadian Open, which saw Jason Day win by one shot over Bubba Watson. That is the network's best final round overnight since reacquiring the event in '07 and marks a 17% increase from last year, when Tim Clark bested Jim Furyk by one stroke. CBS also saw an increase for its third-round coverage Saturday with a 1.3 overnight, up 18% over a 1.1 in '14. To date, CBS is averaging a 2.5 overnight rating for its golf telecasts (16 events), up 32% over this point last year (18 events).
