Virtual Reality Company To Broadcast ManU-Barcelona Match Live For Attending Fans

Virtual reality outfit NextVR has partnered with the Int'l Champions Cup to show Saturday's Manchester United-FC Barcelona match live in the enhanced format to fans attending at Levi’s Stadium. Similar to NextVR’s efforts last month for the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, the company will have stations set up around the stadium in Santa Clara to view the action in virtual reality. Five camera rigs will be placed in key locations around the field. The effort represents the first live virtual reality broadcast of a major soccer tournament. The ICC is hosted by Relevant Sports, a division of the RSE Ventures sports and entertainment venture firm led by Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross. “The International Champions Cup live stream of the Barcelona vs Manchester United match will provide a glimpse of what is in store,” said RSE Ventures co-Founder & CEO Matt Higgins. Highlights from the match will be made more broadly available following the event.
