Weekend Plans With Wasserman Media Group's Circe Wallace: Youth Soccer, Reading

Wasserman Media Group Senior VP CIRCE WALLACE is an agent by trade, and her day-to-day responsibilities can include anything from digital-content acquisition to marketing-partnership negotiation for her clients. She is widely regarded as a pioneer in representing action sports athletes, and in ’11 she was selected as part of the inaugural SBJ/SBD “Game Changers: Women in Sports Business.” Wallace spends a lot of time on the road servicing the business needs of her various clients, and always seizes the opportunity to spend a relaxing weekend at her home in the SoCal beach community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea. But this weekend, plans call for soccer games and family visits in the Pacific Northwest.

HEADED HOME: My 13-year-old daughter, AVA, plays soccer for an elite club team, and on Friday night we will be heading to Seattle for her tournament. I grew up in Seattle, so we are visiting my folks while we are out there. We will definitely do some sightseeing while we are out there. We will probably go on a hike in Discovery Park on the shores of the Puget Sound. I love the Pacific Northwest. It is fun to get back up there every now and then to visit friends and family. I really like to eat in Seattle; there are a lot of great restaurants. It is kind of changing into a foodie town. We also have a 2-year-old daughter, HEMINGWAY. As far as the name -- my husband is a writer and we just liked the way it sounded.

THE SUN ALSO RISES: Sunday mornings usually consist of sleeping in, as long as Hemingway will let me. Then it is breakfast and the N.Y. Times. We do not do any chores on the weekends. Sunday night is when my husband and I watch TV. We love HBO, especially “GAME OF THRONES” and “TRUE DETECTIVE.” I am also a big fan of CBS' “THE GOOD WIFE.” I am kind of a bookworm as well. I am reading this great book “IQ84” by HARUKI MURAKAMI. He is a phenomenal author. I highly recommend it.

LITTLE SURFER GIRL: I just got back from a surfing adventure in the Osa Peninsula of southwest Costa Rica. When most people look at me, they do not think I am a surfer. I grew up as a snowboarder, but when I started surfing a little bit later in life and moved to Southern California, it became a part of me. It gives me great joy to be in the water with nature and to move my body. It is something that is easily accessible to me here in Southern California. There is a little spot in Mexico about an hour from my house we go to for quick surfing getaways. My husband also writes in the surf genre. He wrote a book called “WELCOME TO PARADISE, NOW GO TO HELL,” which is about the North Shore of Oahu. He goes by the pen name CHAS SMITH.

RUN THE WORLD (GIRLS): I have a real mixed bag as far as musical taste. I like bands like ALT-J and PURITY RING. I also enjoy blues, classical and hip-hop. It kind of depends on my mood. If I am cooking, it is classical music or blues. If I am going for a run, I will find something a little more upbeat like pop or BEYONCE or JAY Z. It is funny, but with my daughters growing up, I have some of their musical influences now. They listen to KATY PERRY and TAYLOR SWIFT and I have just learned to enjoy it.

TAKE THE FIELD: We are a sports family. We just got through the Women’s World Cup. That was a big one for my daughter. We watched every game. I like the NBA and my husband loves football and baseball. He is a huge Dodgers fan, but recently converted to the Padres. We have been to a few games this year. They are not having the best year, but it is a good time. Petco Park is phenomenal.
