UFC Eyes AT&T Stadium For UFC 194 After MGM Grand Garden Scheduling Conflict

A Dec. 5 Andrea Bocelli concert at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas has "led to the UFC's decision" to look at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium as the venue for UFC 194, which is slated to be headlined by Jose Aldo-Conor McGregor, according to sources cited by Kevin Iole of YAHOO SPORTS. The MGM "wanted to move the UFC card across Las Vegas Boulevard to Mandalay Bay," but it is a "vastly smaller venue, with a seating capacity for a mixed martial arts card at less than 12,000." UFC "crammed a Nevada-record 16,019 fans into the MGM for UFC 189 on July 11." It is "unknown how AT&T Stadium would be configured, but it can hold over 100,000 fans" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 7/16). The DALLAS MORNING NEWS noted UFC 171 in March '14 at American Airlines Center "sold out," while UFC 185 at the arena "drew 17,000-plus fans and racked up" more than $2M in ticket sales (DALLASNEWS.com, 7/16).
