P.F. Chang's Departs As Rock 'N' Roll Arizona Marathon Title Sponsor

Casual dining chain P.F. Chang's is "exiting as title sponsor" of the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, a "role it held since the event's inception" in '04, according to Jeff Metcalfe of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The restaurant's branding around the race was "so successful that it often is referred to as the P.F. Chang's by participants." Competitor Group PR Dir Dan Cruz, whose company manages the RnR Marathon series, said they have already "been in conversation with a number of local companies" about taking over the title sponsorship. Metcalfe noted the RnR Arizona Marathon, which is held annually in January and is the first race each year in the RnR series, draws "more than 20,000 entrants annually." Meanwhile, Competitor Group on Tuesday announced Humana "as a series-wide partner and title sponsor of RnR races in Chicago, Virginia Beach, San Antonio and New Orleans" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 7/1).
