Today PIQ has announced the development of an advanced multi-sport sensor platform that will first be used for the sport of Golf. PIQ is a software company based in both Switzerland and France, and they are mostly recognized for their sensors. In addition to creating a sensor that will be able to measure 3,000 different points per second and 13 different dimensions, PIQ has also partnered with Mobitee, a prominent golf app, to advance the sensor’s capabilities. This partnership is positioned to offer golf enthusiasts the first wearable sensor.

Cedric Mangaud, co-founder and CEO at PIQ added, “The combination of PIQ’s sensor technology with Mobitee’s golf software experience is going to inject a new dimension to the game of golf, not just for professionals, but for all golfers. Our vision is to utilize the latest wearable technology to improve the overall golf game for our customers while making it increasingly more fun at the same time.”

Mobitee and PIQ’s creation will include a PIQ multisport sensor, a battery bank, and will be compatible with future PIQ products. The sensor, which will be in the form of the clip, can be easily clipped to the users glove, and also will include 18 identification tags for the golfers clubs. Moreover, the sensor will also incorporate a range finder, in depth swing analysis, and access to highlights where the user can share their data through social media.

As previously mentioned, the sensor will contain a ranger finder and Mobitee will be providing maps of 35,000 golf courses around the globe using the finder. With this access users can automatically have insight on the yardage of greens and fairway of the golf course they are playing.
