Redskins Giving Fresh Look, Making Additions To Longtime Practice HQ

The Redskins have a "building addition" underway at their 20-year-old Virginia-based practice and administrative HQ, which is "a surprisingly modest headquarters for one of the NFL’s more profitable franchises, with a past-its-prime feel," according to Liz Clarke of the WASHINGTON POST. Construction during the offseason "was under way on a new wing that extends the main floor and is perched atop the lower level, serving as a second story when viewed from the back of the building." Redskins Senior VP/Communications Tony Wyllie "wouldn’t provide details on the expansion, which appears to have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the practice fields, other than to say in response to an email query: 'We continue to expand and improve Redskins Park with more meeting rooms and offices.'" A source said that the new space "is primarily intended for offices and private baths" for Redskins Owner Dan Snyder, coach Jay Gruden, President Bruce Allen and GM Scot McCloughan (WASHINGTON POST, 6/27).
