Fantasy Island: ESPN To Expand Matthew Berry's Presence On "Sunday Countdown"

ESPN plans to give senior fantasy analyst Matthew Berry a sharply elevated role on “Sunday NFL Countdown.” Berry has provided fantasy analysis in a dedicated segment within the pregame NFL show, but the net starting this fall plans to feature Berry throughout the entire program. Berry will not be marketed as a main cast member, but will still be a prominent fixture. “You’re going to see fantasy blended into our program much more extensively and organically,” ESPN Senior Coordinating Producer Seth Markman said yesterday at the Fantasy Sports Trade Association summer conference in N.Y. “We don’t differentiate much between the fantasy fan and the football fan. The fantasy fan is our audience.” Berry will maintain his other various duties across ESPN’s platforms.
