Eli Manning To Promote Gillette Shave Club, Following In Father Archie's Footsteps

Giants QB Eli Manning said that he now "picks his partnerships carefully," and that includes a new deal with Gillette Shave Club, for which he and his father, former NFLer Archie Manning, spent part of last week "making pre-Father's Day rounds" to promote the sponsorship, according to Neil Best of NEWSDAY. Customers through the club can "sign up for plans to have razors delivered." Eli: "I think obviously I handled my football career first, but I've tried to align myself with great companies that are high quality and a great brand. I think obviously Gillette is one of those and it's been around sports a long time. If you get into talking about something or endorsing something, you want it to be something you actually use and makes sense for you." Archie said that he is "pleased" with how both Eli and brother, Broncos QB Peyton Manning, "have handled that part of their careers." Archie: "Talking about the people that advise them in marketing, I think they've made good decisions there. I'm proud of that." Best wrote Archie is "old enough to remember the days when Gillette was a pioneer in sports marketing." Archie: "Our family goes back three generations with them, so I just feel great about Eli doing some things with Gillette and me kind of tagging on" (NEWSDAY, 6/20).
