Yesterday Texas Golf Digest and MVP Index announced a collaboration between for the second time in order to activate a social media hub for golf fans in time for the US Open. The platform, Social Insider: The 115th US Open Championship launched today and will last through Sunday. The Social Insider will rank all participants involved in the US Open Championship at Chamber’s Bay by recording the top social media activity during the event. The platform will also feature the most popular content from both the course and media personalities during the tournament.

A Social Leaderboard will allow users to see a player’s bio along with his most popular or recent social endeavors on Twitter, Facebook, or even Instagram. This also includes an operation where the user can see the most popular post from the particular athlete within the last 24 hours, which keeps fans up to date on their news.

MVP Index is known as the first sports social media platform to record more than 25,000 athletes, 1,000 teams, and to possess a database that ranges across 41 sports. This is the backbone of Social Insider. Whereas, Golf Digest is a media brand that teaches and directs readers about the proper way to approach the sport of golf.

Ashley Mayo, senior editor of audience engagement at Golf Digest stated that, ““Fans looking for the most engaging US Open-related content from the top three social media platforms will get exactly that from the Social Insider,” Furthermore, “MVPindex will curate the best US Open content from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, allowing fans to cut through the clutter and see only the top content from their favorite players and media members in real time. Fans can link through the social content to explore the feeds of their favorite players.”

MVP Index’s CMO and Co-Founder Kyle Nelson concurs a similar notion, “We’re excited about this opportunity to partner with Golf Digest to highlight the social side of the game.

Our technology will be selecting the most engaging content to share with fans and powering a social leaderboard to show which golfers are engaging off the course as well as on. Because our database of over 43 million data points allows us to rank and value athlete digital brand value, we were an ideal fit to create a curated social hub that ranks brand ambassadors and the content they create.”

Social Insider platform is designed to bring golf fans an all-access look at the social content surrounded by this year’s US Open. Fans now have the reign to research and familiarize themselves with athletes participating in one of golf’s biggest events of the year.
