Los Angeles Dodgers’ Accelerator Program Hosting Open House In New York

The marriage between sports and technology is a dually reciprocating relationship that seems destined to continue far into the future. The LA Dodgers, widely recognized for their community service, are one organization that is seemingly determined to ensure this bond stays strong. Their sports technology and entertainment Accelerator Program will arm 10 chosen start-up companies from across the globe with the adequate resources and support to aid their progression.

In partnership with technology, design, marketing, communication, expert R/GA, the Dodgers are currently taking applications for participation in their accelerator program. May 27th in New York City, an open house for the program will be hosted. Encouraged to attend and apply are businesses seeking to expand the sports and entertainment experiences for fans in imaginative new ways.

The Dodgers and R/GA will aid their 10 chosen companies with providing the sports market with cornerstone products and services of the future by putting them through a unique program comprised of perks including financial funding, access to facilities, industry mentors, branding and development assistance, tech experts, etc.

The program’s aim is to create innovative and lasting brands, who will then in turn boost the relationship between fan and sports/entertainment. The LA Dodgers taking the initiative to scour the world for 10 fledgling companies, and then give them that quintessential lift off of the ground, is really a paramount occasion. Franchises will generally invest in feel-good events for their marketing and PR benefits, but this program could prove vital to the longevity and success of the 10 start-ups it lends a hand to.

The potential those start-ups have to shape and improve the sports technology and entertainment industry also benefits the interest of us, the avid fan. Kudos to the Dodgers and R/GA for going out on a limb in an effort to serve the greater good of all vested in sports and entertainment.
