StubHub Releases New Mobile Apps That Include Partnership With ESPN

StubHub today released a new set of iOS and Android mobile apps that seek to reposition the ticket resale marketplace as a broader event-discovery platform. New features for the redesigned apps included greater personalization and a series of content partnerships, including one with existing partner ESPN. Scores, statistics and news content from ESPN will now be incorporated into the StubHub apps, and StubHub has struck similar partnerships with Yelp and Foursquare. “In today’s on-demand environment, consumers don’t want to spend a lot of time researching what they’re going to do this weekend,” said StubHub Dir of Mobile Product Management Parag Vaish. “Instead, they expect to receive timely and personalized information without having to search for it, and the new StubHub mobile experience provides just that.” StubHub first partnered with ESPN in ’07, and the two parties last year signed a three-year extension to take the exclusive relationship through ’17.
