NASCAR Fans Lining Up To Get Unique Opportunity With Jeff Gordon VIP Experience

The Jeff Gordon VIP Experience, in its second year, gives fans who pay $624 per person a "guaranteed opportunity to hang with Gordon" at NASCAR tracks, according to Jeff Gluck of USA TODAY. Organized through a company called One Live, it "allows less than two dozen an up-close look at Gordon each race week." Packages for the rest of the Sprint Cup season "already have sold out." Gordon said, "We still get a lot of fans that say, 'Other than through your sponsors, how can I get a chance to see you?' One Live came to us with an idea and we're like, 'You know, there are a lot of fans who are asking for some type of experience like this.' We tried it out and they love it." Gluck noted before the first practice -- which "usually falls one or two days before the race -- Gordon participates in a meet-and-greet." Guests have "come from nearly every state and from as far as Australia, Indonesia, Switzerland, Argentina, England and Germany." Jeff Gordon Inc. Dir of Social Media & Online Business Dan Guffey said, "It's been gratifying." He added that more than 100 buyers from last year "purchased packages" for '15. Meanwhile, Gordon "emphasized the VIP program didn't alter his routine of signing autographs along the fence at a racetrack" (USA TODAY, 5/19).
