Clemson Tiger Fans Receive Dedicated Fan App

While professional sports teams each have their own team app for the most part, college teams do not. So it was notable news when OneUp Sports announced the launch of TigerNet today, which will serve as a dedicated app for Clemson Tiger fans. The app will be based off of TigerNet.com, which was established in 1995 and is the longest online Clemson Tigers sports community.

The site, which features original articles by professional writers and the latest Clemson Tigers sports information, blogs, messages boards, live chats, player/coach profiles, schedules, results, photos, videos, podcasts, and more, currently has 121,000 members as well as 81,000 followers on Facebook and 30,000 on Twitter.

Brian Cross, co-founder of TigerNet, said of the site, “TigerNet is the place you come to when you want to talk Clemson sports. The app is the next step with respect to bringing our audience the latest and greatest way to consume their news & communicate with each other and we’re very excited about it.”

This is not OneUp Sports’ first experience with creating apps for college fan bases as they also recently launched an app for Kentucky Sports Radio, which was downloaded over 50,000 times within the first week. Besides their work with college sports apps, they have created apps for the Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Additionally, they have exclusive licensing partnerships with the NBA, NFL, NFL, MLB, NASCAR, and PGA Tour to offer “Connect”, which is their second-screen experience that includes OneUp live-play, and social sports.

With college sports being so popular, there is a huge market for college sports apps and we are interested in seeing if OneUp, or any other app developer continues to create apps for some of the most passionate loyal fan bases out there.
