Adidas Unveils Energy-Returning Basketball Shoes

After a lengthy and grueling 82 game regular season, coupled with a completed first round of taxing playoff action, a number of NBA stars are pushing their bodies to the limit. Working to help players perform at their peak when the stakes are the highest and their energy is sapped, Adidas will be offering a new product in the near future that can help aid one of a basketball player’s most important physical assets – their feet.

The athletic apparel giant recently announced that it will release a new shoe dubbed the Crazylight Boost 2015 this coming July. True to its name, the shoe offers a lightweight feel, sleek look, and technologically advanced design.

Coming in at 12.2 ounces, the new shoe may be lightweight but it packs a punch. Utilizing a relatively new craft, this product features Boost, Adidas’ sole and cushioning technology. Instead of using standard sole construction, Boost features soles that house tiny capsules made of thermoplastic polyurethane, allowing for an increased energy return with every impact compared to standard shoe soles. This specific edition of the Adidas shoe features a 13 percent increase in Boost compared to the previous model.

The Crazylight Boost 2015’s also are the first Adidas basketball shoe to utilize Primeknit technology, a design that features a knitted upper portion of the shoe constructed out of fused yarn. With that technology, the shoe is intended to mold an athlete’s foot and offer comfort, breathability, and stabilization.

Debuting in three different color schemes – “Vivid Red,”  “Solar Yellow,” and “Bright Cyan,” the shoe will hit the shelves on July 1 at a retail price of $140.
