NFL Panthers Add Second Private Club To Bank Of America Stadium Renovations

The NFL Panthers in March "disclosed plans to build and open a 32-member private club" at Bank of America Stadium in time for next season, and "now comes word that a second private club, located on the 400 suite level in the corner of the end zone, will also be added," according to Erik Spanberg of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. To "avoid confusion and gauge demand, the Panthers did not discuss the possibility of a second new club area until now." Demand "looks to be no problem." Charlotte-based Wagner Murray Architects is "designing both membership areas -- known as The 32 Club and The 51 Club -- with Rodgers Builders handling construction." One-time entry fees, "assuming the combined 68 memberships are all sold, will generate" $1.4M. Seats in the new clubs "will cost $650 per game" for the 10 home dates. Food, drink and parking "are included in the price." Annual ticket revenue from the new clubs "will be $442,000." The stadium "will have four private-membership clubs" with the additions. Both of the clubs and the renovated suites are "scheduled to open in July, in time for two soccer exhibitions at the stadium." The number of suites will "decline to 153 from 158 because of suites being combined for the private club and to make room for other construction" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/5).
