STX’s New Protective Hockey Equipment On Display In NHL Playoffs

Global sports equipment manufacturer, STX, is introducing updated protective gear in stores on May 15th. The two new product lines are represented in the NHL by Charlie Coyle (Surgeon line) of the Minnesota Wild, and Matt Moulson (Stallion line) of the Buffalo Sabers. The company is headquartered out of Baltimore, Maryland, and is best known for their men’s and women’s lacrosse sticks and protective gear.

STX (pronounced sticks) became famous for manufacturing the first synthetic material lacrosse stick, and also produces equipment for field hockey and ice hockey.

The company’s newest product release is specifically geared towards two different types of hockey players. The Surgeon line is designed with lighter-weight materials with the goal of minimizing bulk geared towards a finesse player, while the Stallion line offers a little more protection and is more suited for a power player (aka goon for any of you Seann William Scott fans out there).

Both product lines contain stretch mesh to allow for free flowing movement, as well as HD foam throughout that creates a hydrophobic barrier that repels water and stays dry all game long.

The shin guards have a sleeve built into the comfort pad that provides increased protection against lacerations and other serious injuries. and the gloves contain open stitching in the knuckle resulting in increased finger dexterity.
