Boston 2024 Chair JOHN FISH was ranked No. 1 on BOSTON magazine's list of the 50 most powerful people in the city. The magazine's Erick Trickey writes Fish is "using the Olympics to make the city take a long, hard look at our long-term transportation, infrastructure, and housing woes -- whether we like it or not." The bid thus far has "been a political disaster, and Fish’s reputation has suffered." But "make no mistake -- he’s not going anywhere" (BOSTON magazine, May '15 issue). OLYMPIC PROPORTIONS: BOSTON magazine's Carly Carioli writes while some of the biggest players in the '24 Olympics bid landscape are included on the 50 most powerful list -- Fish, Bentley Univ. President GLORIA LARSON at No. 31, Boston Mayor MARTY WALSH at No. 6 and Massachusetts Gov. CHARLIE BAKER at No. 2 -- there are several more "to watch as we race toward a likely Olympic referendum" in '16. Look for Celtics co-Owner & Managing Partner STEVE PAGLIUCA to "take a larger role in Boston 2024," and for Fish to "step back from the local spotlight to focus on selling the Games" to int'l audiences. Meanwhile, No Boston Olympics co-Chair CHRIS DEMPSEY "claims his recent resignation from Bain & Company was unrelated to his anti-Olympics jujitsu."
