Offseason Acquisitions Leading To Record Ratings For Padres Games On FS San Diego

Thanks to the addition of high-priced additions such as P James Shields, RF Matt Kemp and LF Justin Upton, the Padres are posting record-high TV ratings in San Diego. FS San Diego is seeing a 66% year-over-year ratings jump. The net has logged the five highest-rated Padres games this season. The highest number came during a 3-0 loss to the Dodgers on April 24, which pulled in a 7.18 rating. Other big TV numbers came during an April 21 win against the Rockies (6.55), an April 15 win against the D-backs (6.55) and an April 9 extra-innings loss to the Giants (6.11). This marks the team’s fourth season on FS San Diego and second season where it has had full distribution in the market. The Padres currently sit at 11-10, two games behind the first-place Dodgers in the NL West.

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM: FS K.C. saw a new ratings high for a Royals game for the third time in seven games on Sunday. Royals-White Sox drew a 17.3 local rating, marking the most-viewed event ever on the RSN. The 17.3 rating tops the 15.9 earned for the Twins-Royals game on April 21 and 14.6 rating for Royals-A's on April 19. The top five Royals games on the RSN have all aired this season.
