The National Strength And Conditioning Association Goes Hi-Tech

On Tuesday the National Strength and Conditioning Association announced a partnership with Volt Athletics, a training delivery system that combines strength and conditioning expertise with web and mobile technology.

“The NSCA sets the standard for professionalism in the strength and conditioning industry and creating an NSCA-backed technology solution has always been a core pillar of Volt Athletics,” said Volt Co-Founder and CEO Dan Giuliani. “Working together, we are able to leverage new technology to make NSCA standards and research available in practical application to athletes and coaches at all levels.”

As part of the partnership, Volt will provide the NSCA with sample training programs for a variety of sports and offer NSCA membership at an exclusive price to all current and future customers. NSCA membership includes access to the NSCA manual and online educational materials, members-only content, discounted registrations to conferences and clinics, and discounts at the NSCA.com store.

“One of the best benefits Volt provides is efficiency in the programming process, as they help coaches maximize the time they spend creating and implementing programs,” said Scott Caulfield, coaching program manager at NSCA. “Using a web-based training program delivery system gives coaches the tools to administer training successfully and manage their team from afar, while giving athletes the ability to access their workouts from any location on a phone, tablet, or printed in hard copy.”

And athletes are able to see their daily workout at the press of a button. Volt gives them workout instructions complete with number of reps, sets, weights and visual cues.

Volt Athletics asks athletes to input their maxes in three key lifts so the technology can give them a customized training regime based on their strength level. Volt creates a calendar for the athlete that they can view on their computers, tablets and phones.

NSCA athletes will also benefit from agility training workouts, online instruction videos and sports specific injury prevention.

Volt is designed for both athletes and trainers.

Coaches are able to track their player’s progress through a series of charts and graphs. They can even compare athletes side by side. A complete workout library is available for those using Volt’s team product.

All of the workout regimes on Volt were created by certified strength and conditioning specialists.

Their service costs $25 a month for non-NSCA members and can be customized with whatever workouts fit the users sport most.
