Overnight Ratings: Fox Down For Primetime NASCAR Race; "PBC" Lower On NBC

Fox drew a 2.9 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Duck Commander 500 on Saturday night from Texas Motor Speedway, which was the series’ first primetime race of the season. That figure is down from a 3.2 overnight for the race from Darlington Raceway on the same weekend last year, which also was in primetime. The first TMS race in ’14 aired a weekend earlier and was rained out (moved to a Monday).

FIGHTING CHANCE: NBC’s second iteration of “Premier Boxing Champions” drew a 1.9 overnight on Saturday night, down from a 2.5 overnight for the net’s first telecast in early March. Both telecasts delivered NBC primetime win among adults 18-49. Cincinnati led all markets for NBC’s telecast on Saturday night. The 1.9 overnight was up over CBS’ “PBC” telecast on April 4, which drew a 1.1 overnight for an afternoon telecast.

NOTES: ESPN drew a 0.4 overnight for the NCAA Hockey Championship on Saturday night, which featured Providence-Boston Univ. That figure is down from a 0.6 for the Union College-Minnesota matchup last year....ESPN drew a 1.8 overnight for Red Sox-Yankees on “Sunday Night Baseball,” down from a 2.1 for the same matchup on the same weekend last year.

The chart below lists overnight ratings for weekend sports telecast on broadcast TV over the weekend.
