AFL Las Vegas Outlaws Advertise Betting Lines During Home Games Via William Hill Sponsorship

A partnership between William Hill and the AFL Las Vegas Outlaws sees the bookmaker's betting line "announced and posted on the video board before kickoff" of home games at Thomas & Mack Center, and that line is "updated with the in-play odds during every intermission," according to Case Keefer of the LAS VEGAS SUN. AFL Commissioner Scott Butera said, "We want to make sure we have great customer experiences, and that’s a form of entertainment to our fans. It’s done with a great deal of responsibility and done the right way. So far, it’s been well received and we’re encouraged." Butera said that the league had "no official position on the sports gaming industry." Keefer notes William Hill logos are "widespread at the games, most prominently patched on the left shoulder of every Outlaw players’ jersey." The company has a counter on the concourse where customers can "sign up for its mobile betting client, and place wagers from the stands." Outlaws co-Owner Sohrob Farudi said that the team "would integrate the betting line into the scoreboard before the end of the season," with updates after every play. Keefer notes William Hill’s sponsorship does not extend outside of the Las Vegas market, as the other 11 cities with AFL teams "are without regulated betting" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 4/9).
