AEG Signs Coke, Toshiba As Founding Partners For Las Vegas Arena Coming In '16

AEG "has signed Toshiba America Business Solutions and Coca-Cola as founding partners for the Las Vegas arena" scheduled to open in '16, according to Don Muret of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Both are 10-year deals "valued in the seven figures annually." Coke "gets the arena's pouring rights," while Toshiba "becomes the arena’s exclusive supplier of digital signs and displays and provider of printers and copiers." The technology firm’s agreement "extends to naming rights for Toshiba Plaza, a 75,000-square-foot space outside the arena designed to host food and wine festivals, fashion shows, holiday celebrations and other community events." The deals "build upon global agreements both firms have, running eight figures a year, across AEG venues that started at Staples Center" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 4/6 issue). In Las Vegas, Alan Snel notes Toshiba and Coke "join Schneider Electric, a Paris-based energy management company, as founding partners." AEG and arena development partner MGM Resorts Int'l are "aiming to have eight to 10 founding partners, a small cluster of major sponsors instead of a large number of smaller sponsors." They are "still working on getting a naming rights sponsor for the 20,000-seat building." Founding partners "receive prominent signage, luxury suites, ticket access and customized sponsorship plans that allow the company to showcase its products and services" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 4/7).
